On Wednesday, former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, together with his wife and daughter, joined a candlelight vigil in Kolkata to call for justice for the doctor who was reportedly raped and murdered inside a state-run hospital earlier this month.
Dona Ganguly, a well-known Odissi dancer, organised a candlelight vigil with her dance academy, speaking out against the crime and urging for a safer society.
She said that they were protesting against rape, emphasising the need for a safe society and stating that rape must end.
Sana Ganguly also joined the protest, expressing her frustration and demanding justice.
She commented that they wanted justice and it was shocking that such incidents still occurred in 2024. Sourav Ganguly had earlier condemned the crime and called for strict punishment for those responsible.
